Jesse Taylor is surprised that Mel Gibson, as a professing, devout Catholic, would simply make up a papal endorsement for his movie. Perhaps he's forgetting Gibson's Dad's particular strain of Catholicism -- a kind of radical traditionalism which holds that Vatican II, and everything that followed, was heresy.
